ABOUT NET MAKABATA STAR AWARDS

Launched in 2023, the Net Makabata Star Awards was established to honor and celebrate positive online influencers, digital creators, and artists who use their platforms to inspire, educate, and promote kindness in the digital space.

Rooted in the spirit of “Makabata” — a Filipino term that reflects compassion, respect, and love for others — the award recognizes individuals and groups who promote child-friendly content and embody positive values both online and offline. 

This recognition is equivalent to the People’s Choice Award, giving netizens the opportunity to choose and support personalities who serve as inspiring role models for children and youth.

If a personality is a talent or has a contract with one of the Anak TV member-networks, he or she can still be eligible for the Net Makabata Star Award even if their child-friendly online content is not produced by the network.

Each participating Anak TV member-network will submit a list of nominees —  Male and  Female — under the “Boto Ko ‘To” category. From this list, netizens may select their individual choices for the TOP 10 Net Makabata Male Star Awardees and TOP 10 Net Makabata Female Star Awardees through online voting managed by the Anak TV Secretariat.

In addition to their online content, the personality’s image and demeanour off-screen will also be considered in the overall voting and recognition process.

At the end of the voting period, the Top 10 Male and Top 10 Female nominees will receive the Makabata Star Online recognition. 

The Net Makabata Star Awards continues to grow each year, empowering digital creators to use media as a force for good — proving that influence is most powerful when it uplifts, protects, and inspires.
